Serial Retriever

Sometimes, I got a mail with the simple question: “I didn’t receive my serial, can you send me my serial?”

It can be possible that our mail with the serial is lost into a world wide web, or simple is stuck at your SPAM-filter.

A time ago, I’ve introduced a ‘Serial Retriever’ script on this website.
You can find the ‘Serial Retriever’ by following the link at the contact or store page. Both links will point you to this page.

At this page, you need to enter 3 values:
a) Your name and email-address. This data should be the same as the data you entered when you ordered the serial.

b) The item number.
When you order a serial, you have 2 possible ways to pay.
-> Via PayPal: You can find the item number on the PayPal transaction
-> Via an international bank transfer: Take the 4 last digits of the message.

When you enter this data into the Serial Retriever, you’ll be able to see your serial for QuickScale.

What about QuickTwitt

twitter-logo.jpg.jpeg
What about QuickTwitt?

A time ago, I started to write a Twitter client. Every existing Twitter client had some cool features, but there wasn’t a Twitter client that covered the combination of the best features… so I had the idea to start writing my own Twitter client, called QuickTwitt.

QuickTwitt was an application for working with Twitter and supported some cool aspects like:

  • Multiple Twitter accounts
  • Showing conversations
  • Showing and saving searches (for example: see all tweets that contains some keywords)
  • Flexible use (no other software needed like Airs)

The progress of QuickTwitt was great, but I noticed that a lot of people started to write their own Twitter-client, so I decided to pause the development of QuickTwitt and take a look at the progress of the other applications.

I had the idea to make QuickTwitt shareware. A free, useful application and a low-priced full-version with some advanced features.

The development of BlueBird was one of the main reasons why I’ve paused the development of QuickTwitt.
Laurent Baument, a great designer, was the designer of BlueBird so I expected a very cool design.

At this moment, the first beta of BlueBird has been released and I’ve discovered another Twitter-client, called Tweetie.
Tweetie is a new Twitter client (available for Mac and iPhone/iPod) with a very cool design and works exactly like you want (with logical shortcts for example: +N -> New tweet, +enter: Send tweet, … ).

Due the fact that there are now a lot of (good) Twitter clients available, I’ve decided to stop the development of QuickTwitt.

For your information: Tweetie is the my favourite Twitter client. Tweetie covers all my wanted features. Tweetie is shareware. The free version contains some advertisements. You can remove the advertisements by upgrading to the full-version.

Semonto: Graphical month overview

When you have a host checked by Semonto (our Server Monitor Tool, see: Semonto.com), it can be use-full to have a graphical overview of the status of your server.

sem_overview_gra.png

Like you can see: if you see a lot of red/blue or orange colors, you should try to improve your webserver. When you click on a day, you can see the exact problems on that day.

The host given as example is running on an unstable VPS.

This ‘graphical’ overview is available for every host checked by Semonto.

Please see Semonto.com for more information.

Semonto: current prices

Semonto (Server Monitor Tool – see Semonto.com) use a simple formula for calculating the prices.
With Semonto, you need to pay for a maximum capacity, expressed as the maximum tests per hour.

For example, a maximum capacity of 100 tests per hour.
With a maximum capacity of 100 tests per hour, you will be able to perform 25 tests every 15 minutes. A ping-test or port-check is for example 1 test.

If you have interests in Semonto, you can ask a free trial for 1 month. This free trial has a limit of a maximum of 25 tests per hour, this is equal to 6 tests every 15 minutes. 6 tests is enough for a ping-test, a port-check, a database and load-test.

For 3 euro the month, you have a maximum capacity of 50 tests per hour (= 1 200 tests per day), 5 euro for 100 tests per hour (=2 400 tests per day), 10 euro for 250 tests per hour (=6 000 tests per day), 15 euro for 500 tests per hour (=12 000 test per day).

Tests Price
50 3 None SMSs included
100 5 2 SMSs included
250 10 5 SMSs included
500 15 10 SMSs included

I guess that this prices are acceptable.
Please note that this prices are exclusive the prices for send SMS-messages (if you enable this feature).
At the beginning, the price for a single SMS will be 0.20 euro.

As you know, communication is very important.

Today, I’ve created a general mailing list system.
If you want to stay informed about updates or big important news, you can subscribe on our mailing list.

You can subscribe on our mailing list via mailing.codingmammoth.com

We promise we won’t spam you, but once in a while you’ll receive an email when we have something important to announce.

For example: If you want to be informed about the first beta of QuickTwitt, simply subscribe to the mailing list of QuickTwitt and you will receive an email when the first beta is available.

I’ll post soon something about QuickTwitt.

Semonto: Extended ‘check’ policy

Hi

I’ve changed the check-policy of Semonto. Semonto, which stands for Server Monitor Tool.

Before, Semonto send a mail at the moment a test failed… but sometimes, you could receive a mail while everything is okay during a little high load etc…

I’ve fixed this problem with integrating a buffer. If Semonto notice a problem with your host, Semonto will put your host in a buffer and recheck your host after 3 minutes. If the host still giving problems (slow, unavailable, …), Semonto will send a notice to you.

Below a little scheme:

schema.png

When Semonto notice some problems in both checks, Semonto will send you a mail or a SMS (international).

Please see Semonto.com for more details.
You can request a free demo of Semonto for your own website.
