I’m not a good designer but a coder.
Sometimes I try to draw something with DrawIt. Most of the times, it is very ugly, but yesterday, I had the idea to create a very easy desktop image.
I just created a white rectangle with size 1280×800. In the center of the rectangle, I just putted my company icon…
In my eyes, this background is very cool. Some other persons said me that it is too white… but I love the power of white 
A few months ago, I moved back to my old house. Today I’ve moved my first Apple computer back into my room…
My first computer is from 1993-1994, an Apple Performa 630CD with Mac os 7.1.2p.
I had one game (demo) on this mac… called ‘Marathon’. A very cool game!
The game is still available on the internet as free download. You can download 3 versions of the game (you need also to download the engine). It is a little bit confused to get it installed but… it has a multiplayer feature!!!
Okay, it was historical to see my old computer back… and he still works. I’ve filmed the boot process and it is just… to love! I love the old computers of Apple!

-> I saw adds, because ‘Safari AdBlock’ blocked every add for me!)
you want to read your mail… and you got SPAM mails..
-> But the Gmail engine has a very good spam-filter… so no problem
So, I was spam/add free… until a week ago.
If I’m working on some projects, I have always Apple’s iChat running… (my codingmammoth screenname: CodingMammoth). And this works very very smooth.
But since a week ago, I receive some messages from an AIM-Bot. His name ends always with ‘trout’ and he is talking about strange stuff… but yeah, it is just a ’stupid’ bot… but ‘he’ is smart…
For example this ‘chat conversation’. This image is a screenshot of his first ‘conversation’ with me… and if you take a look to his answers… you should think that this is a really person and not a bot… is it a bot? or a person… I hope a bot!
Does anyone notice this problem also?
I asked another friend of me and he noticed the same bot, but every time with another name… (always ending with ‘Trout’)…

The idea is that everyone that uses twitter, give sometimes an answer on this question. For example: Busy with installing a debian server, or going to a football lesson…
The idea behind thus system is: You know people via chat systems, but you don’t know how there are in real life. If you follow their Twitter page, you can know what the people are doing in their spare time.

The fastest update ever!
Okay, it started very strange… Normally, I receive about 25-50 mails per day. But yesterday, I only received 2 little mails… strange!
Monday, I’ve released QuickScale 3.6.5 (and I will blog some more information about that release soon). QuickScale 3.6.5 was a release that solved some memory leaks but it seems that I was to soon with giving memory free. As result, the ‘register’ panel in QuickScale disappeared within a second (because I gave that memory free…). Okay, it is my fault but it is also the fault about a tool I will talk soon at my blog.
Some users had send me an e-mail with the problem that they couldn’t activate their QuickScale-version…
The problem was that I received this mails today, and not yesterday (when they are send)… frustrating… as soon I received the mails, I solved the problem and QuickScale 3.6.6 is released.
My mails (@CodingMammoth.com) are handled by Gmail (Google Apps) and it is strange that their was a delay of one day on my mails…
It was a strange day, but finally, I’m receiving back some mails

Today,
I’ve written my first screensaver.
I was doing a little research on the internet about the fact that a time can be saved as the number of seconds elapsed since 1/1/1970. (for more information see Wikipedia.org. Because I’m a little check-freak (with numbers, graphs, etc) I wanted to create something little to see this number counting… so I decided to create a screensaver.
ScreenSavers are written in Cocoa, so it isn’t difficult for me because QuickScale is also written in Cocoa.
You can download my screensaver and use it for free.

I’ve just released a new version of QuickScale.
The newest version of QuickScale (for Leopard) is now 3.6.5 .
The download weights 2.9 MB and can be downloaded from here.
The release-notes are very short.
I’ve just fixed some potential bugs and memory leaks.
QuickScale did only use around 50-150 MB memory (with scaling unlimited number of images) and that will be better now.
Soon I will blog about a little developer-application to find bugs…
This release is off course a free update for all registered users!
